SKILLS-WORK - Tasks 1-2      May 15-17, May 22-24, May 29-31

1. In the Small Groups (online sessions), you will practice small group leadership. You will prepare the questions for discussion and guide the group through the discussion. You will ensure that:

- everyone gets to speak and give their reflections

- everyone gets asked a follow up question


2. In the Small Groups (online sessions), you will practice small group support. You will ensure that:

- the session is recorded / or a summary of the session is made, inclusing key points made by participants (this is the evidence that everyone has done the work)


Note: Everyone should have a go at leading/facilitating and Everyone should have a go at being the recorder.


ONLINE CLIFTON STRENGTHS ASSESSMENT - Due June 19

As part of your preparation for your Singapore sessions (before and after the Philippines), you will need to do an online assessment. 
To get the link for your registration, you will need to be registered by Rohan who will arrange for me to pay for your assessment.

This must be done in time for Rev Ben to prepare sessions for Singapore. It is helpful for you to do it enough in advance that you get to read your reports BEFORE your departure from your home countries. To be safe, I suggest completing by June 19, 2026.

Personal Preparation and Research for your first assignment (Due: Arrival in Singapore)

Please prepare a Talk about the following:

(If you know how to make a Powerpoint presentation, please do. If not, bring some info and photos and we will help you.)

A Case Study about your home country and your home church:

                                                               i.      Tell us about your country – a map of the country AND where it is in the world

                                                             ii.      What languages?

                                                           iii.      What are the main features of geography and economy?

                                                            iv.      What political system?

                                                             v.      Population – age distribution, rural-urban, some fun facts

                                                            vi.      Culture, Art, Music

                                                          vii.      Food – what is standard and what is special?

CHURCH - Your Local Congregation AND your whole Denomination

                                                        viii.      Photos?

                                                            ix.      Leadership?

                                                             x.      Style of Worship – sample of what happens in a Church gathering

                                                            xi.      Where does your church put most of its time, energy, funds?

                                                          xii.      How does your church understand mission?

ASSIGNMENT 4 - Every Week - AKB to view progress every 5-6 weeks 

Please make sure you have at least 3-4 journal entries every week:

- should reflect on the context

- should outline what you notice and what questions arise

- should have enough information so that when you re-read it later, it will still make sense

Each TIM to take a photo and make a mission reflection, based on Manila visit 24-26 July.

As you move about the key questions are:

1) what is the significance of the photo?

2) what scripture shapes your thinking?

3) what does this have to do with Filipino culture or context?

4) what are the implications or arising questions for mission?

5) how might this impact your ongoing work?

  1. Theme: A Jubilee story told from the perspective of a member church, Partner in Mission, or Training in Mission participant.

  5. Prayer: 30–40 words
