Note: At UTS, we will be joined by two TIM local liaisons, who will be part of our TIM family.
Some information to prepare and share with the group:
a. Something to help us understand the meaning of your name – or something about your name (This will help us remember each other’s names.)
b. Where is your home and something about your country
c. Something about your household and interests/hobbies

7. Practical Tasks
a. Passport (Take a clear photo and keep 2 hard-photocopies of your Passport page)
b. Visas
i. Prepare your documentation (Passport, Letters from CWM, UTS) – read the letters out loud, so you are thoroughly familiar with what we are saying and how we say it!
ii. What you need to knpw:
1. The Philippines
2. Singapore
3. South Africa
c. Air Travel and surviving long-haul flights
Hydrate - water
Scarf/jacket/hoodie
Socks/shoes
d. Assembling your packing - You may bring
i. 1 checked bag (17kgs), which should contain a hardcopy of your passport page and itinerary and WhatsApp contact details.
ii. 1 Carry-on bag that can go in the overhead locker (7kgs), which should include your laptop/tablet and (if bringing) any backup battery, which should contain a hardcopy of your passport page and itinerary and WhatsApp contact details.
iii. 1 Personal Item (e.g. smaller bag), which should include your smartphone and your passport
iv. Clothes
1. Clothes for 1 week of fairly hot/humid weather. We will talk about what is suitable in the online orientation sessions
2. Jacket for on the plane (it can get cold) and evenings/cooler days
3. Swim-wear
4. 1 outfit for a more formal occasion / cultural wear
v. Personal items, including any medications

i. Tell us about your country – a map of the country AND where it is in the world
ii. What languages?
iii. What are the main features of geography and economy?

v. Population – age distribution, rural-urban, some fun facts

vii. Food – what is standard and what is special?
CHURCH - Your Local Congregation AND your whole Denomination
